In Time

'In Time' is an upcoming science fiction thriller scheduled to be released in late October of this year. The film is being distributed by 20th Century Fox and is written and directed by Andrew Niccol. The all star cast is lead by Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried.

The plot of this film is in a retro-future when the aging gene has been switched off, people must pay to stay alive. People stop aging at 25 years old. However, stamped on their arm is a clock of how long they will live. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. Justin Timberlake stars as Will Salas, a poor young man who is accused of murder when he inherits a fortune of time from a dead upper class man. He is forced to go on the run from a corrupt FBI-like police force known as 'Timekeepers'. Seyfried plays Sylvia Weis, an already wealthy young women who helps Salas as he tries to prove his innocence.

Other notable cast members are Olivia Wilde (from Tron) who will play Salas's mother, which is strange considering Timberlake is actually older than Wilde in real life, but i guess that is allowed in a movie where no one ages past 25. Cillian Murphy from Batman Begins and Red Eye will play one of the Timekeepers hunting down Salas. As well Matt Borner, Alex Pettyfer and Johnny Galecki will all be apart of the film. Filming began late last year in Los Angeles. The writer/director Andrew Niccol is  from New Zealand and has films such as The Truman Show, The Terminal and Lord of War under his belt. All these films were box office successes and had received a positive reception, so things are looking good for this upcoming futuristic thriller.
Check out the trailer for yourself, which does a good job of explaining the main concept.

The Dark Knight Rises

The official trailer for the latest batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, was recently released and has drawn lots of attention to the project still in development. The trailer itself contains brief shots of previous films along with Gary Oldman's character, Commission Gordon, in a hospital bed insisting that Batman returns to face this new rising evil. Also you get a glimpse at the new villain which is talked about below. The trailer itself can also be viewed at the end of the post.

NEWS
Warner Bros officially announced filming had begun back in May 2011 with the return of Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Christopher Nolan to director/produce and co-write again. The third film in Christopher Nolan's epic trilogy will be released in July 2012.
The film is under immense pressure by critics and fans alike as it has to follow 2008's The Dark Knight, which was one of the most successful films of all time. The 2008 filmed received eight academy awards and made just over $1 billion at the box office worldwide. However knowing that both the main actor and director will be apart of the third film gives some confidence that it will live up to its predecessor.

Nolan filmed the movie Inception in between projects and has brought a few of the actors to the third film. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard (pictured above) are notable additions to the cast. Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commission Gordon. And academy award winner Marion Cotillard who played Leonardo DiCaprio's crazed lover in Inception will play Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grievcing Bruce Wayne resume his father's philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.

Though probably the most important of them all is Tom Hardy, who played Eames in Inception. Hardy will play the main protagonist Bane (below), alongside Anne Hathaway as Catwomen (I know right?!). Rest assure Nolan has put his realistic touch into Bane's character, so you wont see some dumb toxic fueled gym junkie that was portrayed as Bane in the 1997 Batman and Robin with George Clooney. Instead Bane, I'm sure, will have similar intellectual planning skills as the Joker did in The Dark Knight.

It must also be noted that both Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman while both reprise their roles as Alfred and Lucius Fox. Filming for the final film will take place in LA, New York, Pittsburgh, Scotland, England and India. As well the film will NOT be filmed in 3-D but instead Nolan has decided on improving image quality and scale using the IMAX format. At least we will not have to wear those ridiculous glasses for this expected long film.
Now here is the official trailer... ENJOY!
